About

Climate cafes in a nutshell

Climate Cafés are relaxed, welcoming spaces where people come together to talk about their thoughts and feelings on climate change. Facilitators provide the space and guide the conversation; there’s usually cake and hot drinks too. You simply arrive, join in, listen and share if you want to. Everyone is welcome and there’s no charge.

There’s no pressure to learn facts, change your lifestyle or debate opinions. Climate Cafés are about listening, reflection and mutual support.

Why Climate Cafés?

Talking about climate change can be hard, especially with friends and family. Climate Cafés offer a non‑judgemental space to have those conversations without pressure or debate.

Background

Climate Cafés in Oxford began with Low Carbon Oxford North. They now take place across the UK and beyond, with facilitator training supported by the Climate Psychology Alliance.
